Japanese maples are the „créme de la créme“ of every garden. A majestic looking tree needs no pruning at all and we recommend to let it form its own shape.Description of the plant:
Aconitifolium is a Japanese maple with large leaves. They are very attractive, deeply lobed but look entire. The colour is light to mid green, turning bright shades of orange and fiery red in autumn. In spring it bears profusion of small flowers. The shrub is spreading and even though in Japan you can find specimens 5m tall, in our climate they are commonly about 2-3m tall and wide. The canopy is airy and branching is not dense.
Japanese maples prefer acidic to neutral soil, moist but well drained, semi-fertile. Fully hardy to -27°C (USDA zone 5b), older plants to -29°C (USDA zone 5).
