Description of the plant:
Cascade Gold Japanese maple is a Dutch introduction from 2015. It is a cross between Orange Dream and Ryusen, offering the best of each – golden orange leaves and weeping habit. Its deciduous leaves are palmate, emerge amber orange but soon turn golden yellow and chartreuse, and in autumn offer a magnificent display of vivid carmine red and honey orange. It grows moderately into a slender waterfall of coloured foliage. Japanese maples need constantly moist soil that has to be well-drained, acidic to neutral, and medium fertile. Keep it mulched all year round. It loves a location with high air humidity, e.g. at a river bank or near a pond but it is not a must. It does not tolerate hot sun in dry soils. Find it a semi-shaded place or a location with filtered sunlight. It is very hardy once its wood has hardened and withstands temperatures down to -29°C (USDA zone 5), and suitable for outdoor pots, just keep it moist without a saucer.
