Japanese maples are the „créme de la créme“ of every garden. A majestic looking tree needs no pruning at all and we recommend to let it form its own shape.
Description of the plant:
Among Japanese maples next to dissectum group there is another group called linearilobum, which consists of plants with very narrow and long, and sometimes almost thread-like leaves which give the plant almost a bamboo effect. Linearilobum is its main variety and offers bright green, narrow leaves on reddish stalks. They emerge yellow with a golden hue and turn vivid orange in autumn. Scolopendrifolium grows upright, forming an airy bush which can be pruned to reach a compact shape. It will look great when planted as a specimen shrub in any part of the garden.

Japanese maples prefer acidic to neutral soil, moist but well drained, semi-fertile. Owing to its reduced size it is suitable for small gardens and front yards, too. Fully hardy to -24°C (USDA zone 6), plants older than 5 year to -27°C (USDA zone 5).
