Acer platanoides 'GOLDEN GLOBE' Norway maple

Golden Globe variety produces striking colours of newly emerging leaves. They are bronze red to salmon orange-pink first, changing to golden yellow and yellow green in mid spring, and fresh green in summer. In autumn they turn yellow again. Along with the leaves emerge small but conspicuous, melliferous, yellow flowers composed in thin corymbs.
The crown is almost rounded with a flattened top. This shape is natural, no pruning or trimming is needed. Yet it can be pruned or clipped in late autumn or winter in order to prevent bleeding. It grows rather slowly for a Norway maple, making a canopy width between 3-4 meters but about a third less tall. Over height of the tree depends on the height of the grafting point.
Norway maple is widely soil adaptable and will even do in poor soils if planted in full sun. It is fully hardy to min. -34°C (USDA zone 4) and withstands exposed locations.
