Description of the plant:
Laciniata is an exceptionally beautiful variety of horse chestnut. It has deeply lobed, deciduous leaves, made up of 7 or 9 very narrow leaflets of soft green colour when they emerge, changing to mid green with some blue-green hues in summer. It does not bloom.Rather than a tree it forms a multi-stemmed shrub without a main leader. Thanks to finely cut leaves it makes a fluffy appearance. Very slow growth makes it ideal for even the smallest of gardens. Pruning is not required but can be done in early spring before the buds begin to swell. Grow it in deep, fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Fully hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4).
