Bog rosemary is a low growing shrub from mountainous parts of Europe and Asia. It comes from moist and wet moors and woodlands. It is one of the few plants that survived Ice Age. Blue Lagoon is a variety that was discovered by Marcel Brand as a natural mutation of Blue Ice Andromeda. It happened in Dutch nursery town Boskoop in 2006. Only a few years later, in 2010, it was patented under PP22,004 and made available to the market.
Description of the plant:
Blue Lagoon is a Bog rosemary with clear blue-grey leaves with silvery hues. They are evergreen, linear-lance-shaped, rosemary-like, 2-3 cm long. Urn-shaped, soft pink flowers appear from mid spring (April/May) and often last until early June. Blue Lagoon differs from its parent plant Blue Ice with the leaf colour which is much more prominent blue-grey rather than blue-green in case of Blue Ice variety. It is a slow growing, mound-forming groundcover. It can be lightly trimmed after flowering.

It loves moist to wet places with humus-rich, cool, and acidic soil. Grow it in constant moisture or even a boggy location in full sun or partial shade. It needs to be mulched as drying out quickly ends up in losing leaves along the stems. Pest and disease free. Extremely hardy to -45°C but dislikes heat over 40°C.
