Cedrus atlantica f. 'GLAUCA PENDULA' weeping blue Atlas cedar

Cedrus
Cedars are beautiful, architectural trees that attract attention with their irregular monumental crowns and variable shapes, mainly in southern Europe under the Alps. There are 4 species in this genus among which the hardiest are Atlas cedar (green and blue-green) and cedar of Lebanon (green), whereas Atlas cedar is supposed to be a subspecies of cedar of Lebanon. Each plant has a unique shape. It is often grafted on stems of different heights with branches that are strictly weeping from the top and in a course of time will touch the ground if left unpruned. You can trim or prune it early in the spring, but if possible do not cut into old wood. You can also stake one of the central branches to give it extra height.
Cedars are generally soil tolerant if it is well-drained. They need a sunny spot. Blue Atlas cedar, as a subspecies of cedar of Lebanon, is very hardy. It is fully hardy in our zone 6 (-24°C) and usually withstands occasional swings of -27°C without damage.
