Description of the plant:
Ashes are known as majestic, tall trees but yet there is a dwarf variety that does not grow taller than 1.5m in 10 years. It is an extremely slow growing selection producing short but highly glossy, dark green leaves that never open flat as on common ash, they are slightly curled and grow only at the top of each branch. Such tree or rather a shrub then makes a perfect bonsai appearance. It is suitable for even the smallest of gardens as well as, of course, for Japanese style gardens. It likes full sun, neutral to slightly alkaline, humus-rich soil. Fully hardy.
