Rotgold (Red and Gold) is an elegant variety of Helen’s flower with bi-coloured flowers. It produces abundance of deep red flowers with yellow margins of ray florets. The ratio between yellow and gold varies from plant to plant. The centres are yellow at the beginning, and turn reddish brown later. Leaves are medium green, lanceolate, and appear along the stems as well as near the ground. The stems grow about 1 meter tall and hold flowers from late August until October. It will grow in almost soil type but prefers fertile, reasonably drained soil and full sun. It is recommended to divide every 2-4 years to encourage new roots and young plants. All parts of the plant may cause severe discomfort if eaten. Fully hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4).
