Description of the plant:
Expansa Variegata is a prostrate form of Chinese juniper. It is a low growing, evergreen shrub with majority of scale-like, grey-green needles, and occasional sprays of solid creamy yellow branches with add interest. It is deal as undergrowth for mid-sized trees or shrubs, and for large rockeries. It grows moderately, forming a mounding carpet that is only about 0.5m tall but up to 3m wide in maturity (approx. 30-40 years). Chinese juniper likes full sun or some shade but will not thrive in deep shade. The soil should be well-drained, preferably calcareous and equally moist throughout the year – it does not like drought. There mulching is recommended. Hardy to about -30°C (USDA zone 5).
