Junipers are popular, evergreen conifers that are 100% maintenance-free plants that will grow almost anywhere. There are plentiful of varieties, each of which is suitable for a slightly different use.
Description of the plant:
Green Carpet, as the name suggests, is a ground-covering juniper with rich green needles. Its prostrate growth is perfect for covering slopes, stones, and old walls. It can be placed in a large rockery where occasional pruning is recommended in order to keep it in place. If you do not cut off the odd branches that exceptionally aim a little upwards, such plant can create picturesque tiered effect with veil-like ends of branches when they get older.

Grow juniper in any soil, including chalky, that is not boggy. It will tolerate drought. You can clip or trim it to shapes in early spring and midsummer. It is fully hardy to -34°C (USDA zone 4) and suitable for outdoor pots.
