Description of the plant:
Minister Verschuur is an excellent variety of red hot poker with deep yellow flowers. It starts flowering at the end of spring and on a good site continues until September. This perennial has flowers formed in dense, erect racemes at the tops of about 80 cm long, sturdy stalks. They are pure yellow (without grading to orange).
Narrow, linear leaves are dark green and stiff, they look like day-lily leaves but are more erect. Grow it in full sun in humus-rich, moist but well drained soil. It needs to be mulched over winter so it can survive -24°C (USDA zone 6).
