Description of the plant:
Beauty bush is most beautiful when in full bloom. The flowers are bell-shaped, white to pink-tinged, yellow-flushed in the throat, and appear in May and June in profusion. They look like flowers of abelias. They are very fragrant.Deciduous leaves are mid green, broadly ovate. Another interesting feature is its peeling bark which is best viewed in winter when the shrub is without leaves. It grows into a spreading, large shrub. When fully established, new growths are long and slightly drooping.
For profuse flowering and denser plant we recommend cutting off stems that are older than 2 years to 2-3 strong buds immediately after flowering (June/July). It is soil tolerant, but will thrive in fertile, well-drained but moist soil, in full sun. Fully hardy to min. -34°C (USDA zone 4).
