Description of the plant:
Blue Dwarf is a small and compact variety of Japanese larch. It is a low growing shrub with soft, deciduous needles that emerge fresh green changing to blue green, and turning yellow in autumn. Its almost horizontal branches make it a welcome addition to a Japanese style garden. This little beauty looks great as a shrub or grafted on a short stem. It can find its spot in any garden or front yards of the smallest size. It will look great mulched with standard brown mulch as well as pebbles or decorative gravel of grey/white colour tones.
Larch hates wet soil. If it dies for no obvious reason it is often due to water-logged soil. Grow it in any well-drained, preferably deep soil in full sun. It can be pruned in early spring or shaped in early summer. Fully hardy to min. -34°C (USDA zone 4).
