Description of the plant:
Gold Bar® is a very attractive mutation of popular zebra grass which exhibits a shorter, more compact growth with more profuse yellow variegation. Gold Bar® eulalia has 4 times as many yellow stripes than zebra grass and its tuft is very dense even on young plants. Flowers are not common but may appear in regions with long summers, usually just before the frosts. They are coppery red and help only a little above foliage. Gold Bar® was patented unde PP15193 in 2004.Eulalia does not tend to be invasive. It is best grown in sunny and warm areas, in almost any well-drained soil with only occasional watering in summer. It hates boggy soil quite surprisingly copes well with heavy clay unless its roots stand in water before they establish. It is recommended to tie up the leaves before winter and cut the clump back in early spring, about 10-20 cm above ground level. Fully hardy to about -29°C (USDA zone 5).
