Boston ivy is a well-known, fast growing, and vigorous climber (creeper). Its adhesive roots cling to almost any surface and help the plant climb as high as the provided support allows. In neglected locations it tends to take over the space and may be difficult to kill. It comes from Asia and is native to China, Korean, and Japan.Description of the plant:
Green Spring is a large-leaved variety of Boston ivy producing glossy, fresh green leaves with three lobes and bright rosy pinky stalks and veins. The margins are only shallowly and thinly serrated. They look best in autumn when they turn deep wine red first, and vivid carmine red later with some yellow foliage in the background. Before they start falling down the whole plant is scarlet pink. This is a time-limited show, still this Boston ivy is worth growing for this short performance.Virginia creepers and Boston ivies love fertile, evenly moist soils of any pH but will reliably grow almost anywhere – in sun or shade, yet sunny locations will guarantee better autumn colours. Absolutely hardy to at least -34°C (USDA zone 4).
