I love seeing that even so-called old-fashioned plants such as perennial phlox still attract breeders’ attention and they invest time and energy in crossbreeding and selecting new, hardier, healthier, and more beautiful varieties. ADESSA™ is another series of the new millennium offering healthy plants with attractive flower colours and bushy habit.Description of the plant:
ADESSA™ Orange phlox is a winner of the current battle for a perennial phlox with flowers of a warm colour shade, preferably orange. It produces flowers that are light red with some orange shimmers and light purple pink mark in the centre. It is a real success that may be followed by further varieties of richer shades. The flowers are fragrant and midseason, opening usually from late July until late September, possibly October is the autumn is sunny and warm. The lance-shaped leaves are soft to mid green and disease resistant.Growing phlox is easy. It likes almost any garden soil, fertile or poor, but with enough nutrients the flowering will be heavier and the plant will not suffer common phlox diseases. They are long-lived plants that will stay in your garden until you dig them out. Sunny location is preferred but will flower in partial shade, too. Hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4).
