ADESSA™ Purple Star phlox is a real star among all the others. The rich purple violet flowers of this variety dominate every perennial bed. And even from a distance you can notice its delicate white stars in the centre of the flowers. They are fragrant and attract butterflies. They open later than most of the older varieties but keep on producing flowers until frost. The leaves are very dark and disease resistant.Growing phlox is easy. It likes almost any garden soil, fertile or poor, but with enough nutrients the flowering will be heavier and the plant will not suffer common phlox diseases. They are long-lived plants that will stay in your garden until you dig them out. Sunny location is preferred but will flower in partial shade, too. Hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4).
