Description of the plant:
Phyllostachys bissetii is a hardy bamboo species from phyllostachys genus. It has rich green, narrowly lance-shaped leaves, and medium thick, dark olive green stems. It grows medium fast and is suitable for hedges and for covering unsightly corners. Phyllostachys is a running bamboo which either needs a root barrier not to expand to the rest of the garden, or growing in a location where unwanted shoots can easily be removed while mowing the lawn for example.

Grow it in fertile, moisture retentive soil, preferably in full sun or dappled shape. It is hardy to about -25°C and likes some shelter from cold, drying winds. Nevertheless, it regenerates very well after bad winters.
