Pinus parviflora 'NEGISHI' Japanese white pine

Pinus
Pine trees are superb trees which grow in a wide climate scale - from cold northern countries to hot coastal sites. They are probably most beautiful in their natural environment.Ultimate height is usually stated as 3-4m but grows very slowly and we could expect this size when the plant is perhaps 50 years old. It grows slowly into an irregular, often bizarre but attractive looking shrub, like a bonsai without pruning. You can combine it in a mixed border with other compact, Japanese-style plants or make it a small specimen in a small garden. As every pine, it needs full sun and well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Do not over-water pines but make sure it does not dry out when re-planted. Absolutely hardy to approx. -34°C (USDA zone 4).
