Pine trees are superb trees which grow in a wide climate scale - from cold northern countries to hot coastal sites. They are probably most beautiful in their natural environment.Description of the plant:
When I first saw this Globosa Viridis pine I could not believe it was a scots pine variety. Scots pines have blue-green or silvery green needles and rapid growth, while this jewel is vivid green, like a fresh lawn. It grows very slowly and compact, forming a slim cone with somewhat rounded top. Trimming is out of the question as it grows only about 1m tall when 10-15 years old.You can combine it in a mixed border with other compact or Japanese-style plants, or make it a small specimen in a small garden. As every pine, it needs full sun and well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Do not over-water but make sure it does not dry out when re-planted. Absolutely hardy to approx. -40°C (USDA zone 3).
