Description of the plant:
Aprikose von Nancy, De Nancy, Gros Peche or simply Nancy Peach is an old and proven variety of apricots from 1709. It originated in France and is valued for production of large fruit of excellent taste and good garden performance. The fruit is almost rounded, deep orange, red flushed, the flesh is aromatic, sweet, and juicy, freestone. It matures continuously from late July until early August, so you can harvest it for about two weeks. It is great for fresh consumption as well as processing. It is self-fertile (needs no other tree to pollinate its flowers) and productive but will benefit from a different variety grown nearby.

Apricot trees are best with no pruning. Still, if you need to cut it do so after flowering when leaves are borne, or immediately after harvest. This way it will have enough time to produce new twigs and flower buds for the following year.

The growth is moderate, the canopy is upright and rounded with age. It needs a sunny and warm place sheltered from strong winds, and good, humus-rich soil. This variety is suitable for almost all reagions of zone 6. Hardy to about -29°C (USDA zone 5).
