Description of the plant:
Bergeron apricot is a famous and reliable variety grown around the world. Its flowers are susceptible to frost. Self-fertile.The fruit is rounded or oblong, mid-sized to large, orange with red blush. They ripen early: from mid-summer. They are aromatic and sweet, medium juicy, with low acid content. Ideal for eating fresh from the tree as well as for preserves and stews.
Apricot trees are quite attractive even without flowers or fruit. They have nice leaves of fresh to mid green colour with bright red stalks. The growth rate is medium to vigorous, new branches are solid, half-erect. For best yields and strong tree it is advisable to prune it every year from end May to early June.
Apricot trees need a sunny and warm location. The soil must be fertile, well-drained. Fully hardy to min. -25°C (USDA zone 5b).
