We are specialists in evergreen plants and we offer the widest possible range of quality plants. English (cherry) laurel is probably the most common and reliable species.
Description of the plant:
Etna® is the queen of laurels. Its bright emerald green leaves are glossy and healthy, slightly curved at the ends and edges which gives the whole shrub added plasticity. New leaves emerge coloured in rich bronze. Etna’s foliage is much more tolerant of winter sun scald than most laurels.

Compound flowers, if any, are white, fragrant and appear in April and May, followed by very ornamental but non edible fruits. This variety, however, seldom sets flowers.

This selection does not grow tall. It forms a thick, compact bush. This feature makes it ideal for several purposes: combination plant for various arrangements, undergrowth planting, and the perfect choice for an informal low hedge that does not need pruning.

Laurels need slightly deep and fertile, acidic, moist soil, and extra watering in frost-free periods in winter to prevent from drying out before the ground gets frozen. It will thrive in full sun or part shade, and will also tolerate being grown in full shade. It seldom suffers from chlorosis (leaves turning yellow owing to lack of iron in the soil). When the leaves do turn dull green or yellow the soil is too wet. Fully hardy to -27°C (USDA zone 5b).
