Description of the plant:
Not only Japanese ornamental cherries can create the typical spring atmosphere in your garden. We have an exquisite small tree with flowers that can easily beat cherries. It is an ornamental flowering peach with quite large, bowl-shaped pink flowers with numerous deep pink to red stamens. Leaves have the same length and shape as on peach trees but their colour is another thing to make you want it: deep burgundy red. Fruit is medium to small, dark purple-red and if you want to eat it let it ripen until early autumn when it tastes best. The skin though is rather bitter. Grow this peach is full sun, slightly acidic soil that is well drained but never dries out.Last update 13-10-2009
