Description of the plant:
We are always utterly happy when we can introduce a plant which in its original form was too tall or wide for a usual-size garden. But thanks to special breeding we can then enjoy dwarf varieties with slower growth which still keep their main features. This pin oak is a perfect example. The thick compact crown bears leaves that are deeply lobed, glossy and green, very attractive for a summer garden giving it a feeling of natural woodlands. But the main show begins in the autumn when the leaf colour changes to orange yellow and golden, crimson red and purple, still with flashes of green. Usual height is about 2m, if grafted on a half- or mini-standard count on about 3m in 20 years. It lives in any well-drained garden soil and even tolerates lime. Fully hardy.WANT TO TRY A SIMILAR PLANT?
