Description of the plant:
Alexandra is a new Kordes rose from 2009 named after the Princesse of Luxembourg, whom it was dedicated for her 18th birthday. It makes a robust shrub about 1.2 tall with pink, double flowers that are up to 10 cm across, very fragrant. Alexandra will look great combined with lavender or a low perennial with small, white flowers. Repeat bloomer. Very healthy and resistant to mildew andBlack spot.
Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.
Pruning: These roses needn’t be pruned. What you can do though is deadhead stems with spent flowers above the first leaf with 5 leaflets. You can trim the shrub in early spring. Fore rejuvenation cut back the plant every 3-4 years to 3-5 live buds in spring.
