Description of the plant:
DOUBLE DELIGHT is a charming tea hybrid rose variety from 1976 by Swim & Ellise. In 1977 when it was introduced to general public it immediately received the AARS award. It makes medium large, about 10 cm across, semi-double flowers of rich red colozr on the outskirts and creamy white centres. The fragrance is sweet and strong. Blooming begins in JUne and continues until October. It is a vigorous grower so pruning is essential in order to obtain a nice plant. Leaves are deciduous, glossy, dull green, and may be prone to typical rose diseases. Fertilize the plant during flowering season regularly.
Its patent No. PP03847 dated 1976 is expired now and the rose is available for reproduction without licence.
Planting instructions: Plant it in the same level as it is now in the container. Provide a good support for the stem. Water it well and mulch it for winter. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun. If you live in a region with harsh and long winters protect the crown and the grafting point with white woven.
Pruning: In spring after danger of all frosts prune the crown to 3-5 live buds and remove ill or dead branches.
