Description of the plant:
THIS VARIETY HAS BEEN RETIRED BY DAVID AUSTIN, NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION.

Charlotte is an excellent variety with exquisite cup-shaped flowers, of medium size and soft yellow colouring. All in all, one of the most beautiful of the yellow English Roses and also, for those with particularly cold winters, one of the hardiest. It has a delicious Tea Rose fragrance.

Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.

Pruning of roses on stems: In colder regions (zones 6 and lower) before winter tie up the branches carefully and wrap them in white woven, the grafting point on the top of the stem must be covered too. It is recommended to overwrap the stem with jute. In the spring after danger of strong frost cut the branches by about a third to create a desired crown shape. To support extra flowering during the season remove twigs past blossom: cut them off to the first leaf with 5 bracts. Mulch the bottom graft well before winter, preferably with leaf-mould.
