Description of the plant:
SOUVENIR DE BADEN-BADEN® is another stunning hybrid tea rose by Kordes. It makes medium-sized flowers 10-12 cm across. They are a combination of very soft pink and pale flesh or beige colour, with an interesting deep pink outline at the margins of the petals. The scent is usually described as the old-fashioned from grandma’s garden, meaning it is sweet, soft, medium strong, and utterly pleasant. It blooms in several flushes from June until late October, sometimes early November if the autumn is sunny and warm. The leaves are dark green, glossy, and very healthy, usually until the very end of the growing season. It belongs to the Eleganza series and was awarded several medals since its introduction in 2008: Bronze Medal Baden-Baden (2008), Gold Medal Hradec (2012), and a special price for perfume in Den Haag (2013).

Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun. During the flowering season regular feeding is recommended.

Pruning: Regular deadheading during the flowering season will enhance production of new flower buds - remove stems with spent flowers above the first leaf with 5 leaflets where the stem is strong and does not bend. Hard prune the whole shrub in early spring after frosts to 3-5 live buds above the ground.
