Rosa 'MEIgriso' BARONNE DE ROTHSCHILD® hybrid tea shrub rose (Meilland)

BARONNE DE ROTHSCHILD® is a jewel in the range of Meilland roses from France. It was introduced already in 1968 and has remained a sought-after item, especially among collectors of strongly scented roses, ever since. It produces large, 11-13 cm wide, semi-double flowers of bright magenta pink petals with silvery pink reverse. They have a noble hybrid tea rose shape. The perfume is deep and difficult to describe – rather spicy with some sweet floral hints and a bit of citrus. The plant forms nice and bushy shrubs with several flushes of flowers from June until October. Deciduous leaves are dark green, glossy, and very healthy for which it was awarded ADR in 1971. Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.

Pruning: Cut the branches in half in autumn and prune hard to 3-5 live buds in spring after danger of frosts. During the flowering season prune flowered stems regularly, and follow a regular feeding programme.
