Description of the plant:
Sonnenschirm® means ‘parasol’ and it is a polyantha/shrub rose bred by Hans-Jürgen Evers in German nursery Rosen Tantau in 1988. It produces vivid yellow flowers which are a little paler in hot weather, turning richer and deeper yellow towards the autumn. No fragrance but well self-cleaning. It blooms in several flushes from mid June until November. Leaves are medium green and very glossy, susceptible to leaf spot so providing ideal growing conditions is crucial in order to keep them healthy for as long as possible.Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.
Pruning: These roses do not require hard pruning but may benefit from spring shearing. When old and leggy or for ground-covering effect prune hard to 3-5 live buds in spring after danger of frosts.
