Rosa 'TALdognil' GOLDELSE® shrub rose - floribunda (Tantau)

Fancy a colour of setting sun and a glass of old whisky. That could possibly describe the irresistible tone of this fantastic floribunda rose bred by Hans Jürgen Evers from Rosen Tantau, introduced in 1999 and named GOLDELSE®. Though, the sequence of colours is the other way round: when the buds burst out the flowers are golden yellow and as they mature, they gain deep tangerine orange shade. They are 8-10 cm across, semi-double, and release a mild, pleasantly sweet fragrance. Blooming begins in June and continues until the last warm and sunny days of early autumn so no wonder the plant is full of rich colours still in November. Deciduous leaves are dark olive green, partially glossy, and about 90% resistant to common rose diseases. It naturally forms low, compact, and dense shrubs about 50 cm tall and wide.

Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate a wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.

Pruning: Cut the branches in halves in autumn and prune hard to 3-5 live buds in spring after danger of frosts. Spent flowers are best removed as they begin to fade. Cut off spent flowering clusters just above the leaf with 5 leaflets or deeper if rejuvenating is desired during vegetation.
