Description of the plant:
ASCOT® is a nostalgic shrub rose by Rosen Tantau from Germany. It is highly appreciate for its rich colour and uniquely shaped bloomes – double peony rounded shape. The colour is a rich red with dark purple pink tones with pearly texture. ASCOT® flowers are 10-12 cm across, bear a slight fragrance, and appear reliably in several flushed from late May until October. In good soil leaves are usually trouble free and need no treatment against common rose diseases. It forms a compact, dense shrub about 90 cm tall, or can be trained into a short climber rose of 1.8-2m. It was bred by Hans Jürgen Evers in n2001, introduced in 2007, and patented in Europe as 00537394 in 2010. Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate a wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.
Pruning: Cut the branches in halves in autumn and prune hard to 3-5 live buds in spring after danger of frosts.
