Description of the plant:
Pixie is a moss saxifrage variety with numerous flowers which open rich rosy pink and mature to pale pink. They appear atop thin, about 10 cm tall stems. Pixie forms a compact clump of evergreen, soft green leaves. Flowers come out in profusion from mid spring and create a breathtaking colourful carpet. The plant grows at moderate growth rate, doubling its size within one year. Saxifrage likes moist but well-drained, loam-based soil and location in full sun or partial shade. It will form a dry nest in its centre in too dry soil in full sun. Hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4). NOT suitable for pots and dry rockeries.
