Description of the plant:
Golden rod is an omnipresent perennial from almost all over the world. The wild species is quite invasive but very handsome at the same time. That’s why breeders hybridize new varieties which are well-behaving and no less beautiful. Laurin is one of them.

Laurin is a dwarf variety of golden rod valued for its abundant flowering in late summer. It produces fireworks of striking yellow, seedless, tiny flowers composed in terminal racemes on short stems. They are only 30 cm or so tall, and branched so well that the plant looks like a small shrub. The leaves are mid green, narrowly lanceolate. Laurin will look beautiful in any border, mixed with taller perennials or planted in a rockery mulched with pebbles and grain.

Golden rod is quite soil adaptable. It will take some clay, too. For best results grow it in moderately fertile soil in full sun. Well-established plants can take periods of drought without risking mildew infection. It is hardy to minimum of -30°C (USDA zone 5), but is believed to take harder frost.
