Description of the plant:
Lilac Fantasy is en elegant variety of long leaf speedwell. In early summer it produces well-branched inflorescence composed of up to 25 cm tall, spike-like, terminal racemes with soft mauve to pale lavender blue flowers. Stems are strong and upright, usually about half a meter tall but under excellent growing conditions they may reach about 70 cm. Leaves are 7-12 cm long, narrowly lanceolate, serrated at margins, rich green. They help the plant look quite bushy and dense. Speedwell will grow in any moist but well-drained, reasonably fertile soil, preferably in full sun but partial shade will do no harm. The flowers are excellent for cutting. If you cut the whole plant just above the ground after the main flower production, it will re-bloom in August. Hardy to min. -34°C (USDA zone 4).
