Description of the plant:
Eskimo is a jewel among viburnums. It is an evergreen or semi-evergreen, compact shrub, growing slowly about 1m tall and wide. In mid-spring it makes almost spherical corymbs of pure white, lightly scented flowers. The flowering is reliable and abundant every year. There are so many flower-heads that leaves cannot be seen. They are deep green, leathery, 7-10 cm long, ovate, and glossy. Some of them may turn red or purple in autumn and winter. In exposed areas most of them fall down, in sheltered locations the shrub remains almost evergreen. It is naturally mound-forming and compact, pruning not necessary. It likes fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Fully hardy to about -29°C (USDA zone 5).
