Description of the plant:
One of the most beautiful conifers of our climate is Japanese cedar. There are many species and varieties. Globosa Nana was first discovered in 1923 in Japan, where it is called Mitama-sugi.It is a dense, compact conifer with rounded branches. The needles are curved, inward-pointing, bright green as they emerge and emerald green in all seasons apart from winter when they turn purplish or bronze. It grows very slowly into a compact, rounded bush.
Globosa Nana will grow in almost any well-drained soil, but for best results grow it in fertile, deep, always moist soil. If grown in a no-maintenance garden it should be in partial sun, however, if you water it on hot days of summer it will be happy in full sun. It is one of the hardiest Japanese cedars that will withstand -24°C without damage (USDA zone 6) or lower temperatures with protection.
