Gaura is a typical example of a plant that deserves its price should it come in any pot size. It is a perennial with extra long bloom season and requiring little or no care. GEYSER is a Dutch series bred by Henricus Stemkens between 1998 and 2000, comprising of three compact varieties with different flower colours: white, soft pink, and dark pink.
Description of the plant:
GEYSER, or often also called GEYSER WHITE is a beautiful and compact, white flowering gaura from GEYSER series. It produces wide-open, pure snow white flowers atop thin stems from late June until October. Deciduous leaves are narrowly lanceolate, soft green, and form a dense cushion. The plant is about 30 cm tall before flowering, and as the flowering stems grow taller it may reach up to 60 cm at the end of the season. GEYSER was patented as PP18279 in 2007.In the wild gaura lives in naturally moist lands where it thrives. Grow it in equally moist but well drained soil in full sun. Once established it tolerates summer drought. The richer soil the more flowers you get so if unsure about your soil quality fertilize it with any common fertilizer for flowering plants when in bloom. Just avoid heavy, clay-based soils. Hardy to about -27 °C (USDA zone 5b) but mulching is recommended for areas with long lasting frost without snow.
