Description of the plant:
Gaura - wand flower is a typical example of a plant that deserves its price should it come in any pot size. It is a perennial with extra long bloom season and requiring little or no care.

Summer Breeze is a perfect name for a variety which does look airy and full of summer peace. It makes pure white flowers opening from rose-pink buds from July until October. The stems are thin, about 30-40 cm tall and look very relaxed when summer breeze flows through them, yet the plant does not tend to lay on the ground and keeps its upright habit. Trimming off stems with spent flowers will encourage production of new ones.

In the wild gaura lives in naturally moist lands where it thrives. Grow it in equally moist but well drained soil in full sun. Once established it tolerates summer drought. The richer soil the more flowers you get so if unsure about your soil quality fertilize it with any common fertilizer for flowering plants when in bloom. If grown in well-drained soil and protected with fir branches in winter it can withstand down to about -27°C (USDA zone 5).
