Description of the plant:
Ben Hope rock rose is a fantastic subshrub (woody perennial) producing masses of vibrant magenta pink flowers in June and July. They have 5 petals and a yellow centre. Its evergreen, rosemary-like leaves are dark green, short and linear. Ben Hope rock rose is a low, spreading plant, ideal for rockeries or dry slopes. It grows well in common garden soil, too, provided it is well-drained.

Rock rose loves full sun and neutral to slightly alkaline soil that must not remain wet. It looks best if regularly pruned after flowering. This way it makes a nice carpet of evergreen foliage that remains attractive even when the plant is not blooming. Hardy to about -29°C (USDA zone 5).
