Description of the plant:
Rock roses are very popular semi-woody perennials. Wisley Pink is an early, mound-forming variety with large, soft pink flowers already from mid May. They open from nodding buds for about 4 weeks. The number of flowers is enormous and at its peak they cover the plant wholly. They have 5 petals and a yellow centre. Its evergreen, rosemary-like leaves are dark green, short and linear. Rock roses are low, spreading plants, ideal for rockeries or dry slopes that grow well in common garden soil, too, provided it is well-drained. They love full sun and neutral to slightly alkaline soil that must not remain wet, and look best if regularly sheared after flowering. This way they make a nice carpet of evergreen foliage that remains attractive even when the plant is not blooming. Hardy to about -29°C (USDA zone 5).
