Description of the plant:
Shasta daisy is such an elegant and reliable perennial that is so easy to combine with almost any other flowering perennials that it should find its place in every garden. Broadway Lights™ is a superb variety bred in Germany by Manfred Mehring-Lemper and patented under PP19,242 in 2006. From late spring until midsummer the plant makes about 50 cm stems with large flowers that open rich yellow, quickly change to soft butter yellow, and fade to creamy white or almost white. The centre is always golden orange. The clump is almost constantly covered with three different colours. Blooming time can be prolonged by prompt deadheading and fertilizing. Broadway Lights™ exhibits a compact habit of a freely flowering perennial. Lance-shaped leaves are deep green, stalkless, heavily toothed at margins. The plant is not invasive.
It is widely soil adaptable provided the soil is well-drained but kept moist. It is not tolerant of either extreme: drought and bog. Fully hardy to min. -30°C.
