Description of the plant:
Lady in Red is a new sport of common ninebark with 3-lobed leaves, which appear early in the spring. It was first sown in 2000 in Norfolk, England. Unlike Diabolo® variety this one has brighter shade of red in the leaves and forms a dense and regular-shaped shrub from young age, rather arching. Clusters of pink flowers are tiny but the shrub is covered with them in May. This shrub is an excellent, fully hardy plant which thanks to its colour-coded leaves highlights every composition or fills a spot where you hopelessly think about putting something. It likes sun or shade and any soil. You would not find many versatile plants like this one.Last update 03-09-2008
