Sommerflor is a low growing variety of cinquefoil with quite large, bright yellow flowers that come out from June until September. It forms a dense, prostrate shrub, suitable for small gardens, too, or along pathways, and in between taller shrubs or trees. Cinquefoil grows best in well-drained, poor or moderately fertile soil in full sun. For compact habit long shoots should be removed in spring and the whole shrub clipped by about a third. It does not need extra fertilizing or watering once established. Fully hardy to abt. -40°C (USDA zone 3) and is suitable for outdoor pots down to zone 5.
