Description of the plant:
Jive™ is another climbing rose by Poulsen Roser from Denmark. It was introduced in 2003 and belongs to their Courtyard® range. It produces masses of medium large, soft red, double flowers in multiple phases from early summer until the last sunny and warm days of autumn. It has a pleasant fragrance. Being a relatively slow grower it can be used as a taller shrub in a corner or along a fence. It has some resistance against rose diseases, however, we recommend spraying it against usual diseases in June and July as prevention. Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.
Pruning: rambling or climbing roses are not supposed to be pruned. But it can be shaped and kept smaller by careful pruning. Deadheading will help setting new flower buds. Trusses of spent flowers are best removed just above the first leave with 5 leaflets.
