Description of the plant:
FLORENTINA® is a masterpiece among red climbing roses. Bred by Tim Hermann Kordes in 2002 it waited 9 long years until its introduction to rose-freak public in 2011. Then it became a hit almost overnight. Its online reviews almost unanimously shout out excited expressions as in tabloid headlines such as Fantastic, Gorgeous, or Breathtaking, followed by numerous exclamation marks. And you know what – they are all true.

FLORENTINA® is a short climber growing some 2m tall and producing vibrant red, fully double flowers, 8-9 cm across, not strongly scented. They appear in trusses of 3-4 flowers looking a bit congested, yet very firm, and keeping up appearances even after a long rain. It blooms repeatedly from June until October. Leaves are deep green, very glossy, and perfectly disease resistant. ADR granted in 2011. It was patented as PP24196 in 2014.

Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.

Pruning: Climbing roses needn’t be pruned. What you can do though is deadhead stems with spent flowers above the first leaf with 5 leaflets.
