Ulmus glabra 'PENDULA' wych elm

Looking for more information about the tree you can find that it can reach 6 or more meters tall which looks very unprobeable given its strictly weeping habit. Still, there are specimens that big, but those are very old exceptions from spacious parks and arboretums with unlimited root space. In gardens it keeps much shorter and its height is derived from the size of the stem it is top-grafted on, however, its spread can be sizeable – 3 to 5m in maturity. Pruning is not needed, however, some cutting can be down in early spring if you wish to shape it.
Elm is not picky about soil type if it is well-drained. This one prefers constant moisture, so we recommend mulching it sufficiently as a prevention from drying out during hot summer months. It is best grown in full sun in an open site where it can fully display its canopy. Fully hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4).
