Description of the plant:
Bambino Blue is a compact variety of Jacob's ladder producing beautiful violet blue flowers with yellow centres margined with purple red corolla. They come out in profusion atop upright, fleshy stems about 45 cm tall from late May or early June for almost 2 months. Yarrow-like leaves are rich green, partly glossy, pinnate, and resemble a ladder hence its common name. If the clump looks tired and unsightly after flowering cut it back just above ground level, the plant will re-emerge with a fresh dose of ferny foliage in a nice mound that will decorate the bed by the end of the season.
Jacob’s ladder is a low maintenance plant that loves fertile and evenly moist soil. It will grow in soil of any pH, in full sun or partial shade, it can even live in full shade but will not make a neat clump there. Hardy to about -34°C and suitable for outdoor pots.
